Five Places to Visit: Denver, CO
by: Matthew Hundley
Go! Denver, CO
Go! points out five key places to visit when traveling to select cities. This time the focus is on Denver, Colorado.
Food :: Watercourse
http://www.watercoursefoods.com
Great selection of vegetarian items. Great coffee and desert items as well. It’s a regular stop on our trips to Denver.
837 E. 17th Ave, Denver, CO 80218 / Map
Open Mon - Fri 6:30am - 10pm, Sat & Sun 8am - 10pm
303-832-7313
Books :: Tattered Cover
http://www.tatteredcover.com
Tattered Cover is still alive and well in Denver proving that independent book stores can still make it in the world of the big “B” bookstores. You will not find them open in Cherry Creek any longer. There are three other locations: on Colfax, in LoDo and out in Highlands Ranch.
Music:: Wax Trax

638 E 13th Ave, Denver, CO 80203, (303) 831-7246
Wax Trax is a Denver institution. When looking for anything music related on vinyl, CD or DVD. This is the place to stop. The more obscure the better.
Photography :: Camera Obscura Gallery

1309 Bannock Street, Denver, Colorado 80204
Phone: (303) 623-4059 Fax: (303) 893-4195
Email: info@cameraobscuragallery.com
The Camera Obscura Gallery is close to the Denver Art Museum. Hal Gould has been running this place since 1988. An amazing collection of prints from some of the worlds most renowned photographers. He also has a great selection of photography books for sale. Again, lots of hard to find books and prints. Hal also has some great stories to tell. Stop in and explore. Plan to spend some time there.
Church :: Denver City Pres
http://www.citypres.org
If you find yourself in Denver for a weekend I’d highly suggest starting your Sunday out worshipping at City Pres – services are at the Tivoli. Sam Downing is the pastor there. Liturgical worship, traditional hymns with a jazz trio backing things up, great coffee and conversation before and after service, and be sure to peruse some good thinking material on the book table.
